Happy Cold Wednesday!

Here's what we did today:

Spelling: We took a trial test over Lesson 15.

Reading/Social Studies: We reviewed for a test tomorrow over Chapter 10. We also did partner reading.

Math: We found a trick to adding more than 2 single digit numbers.

Happy Tuesday!

Here's what we did today:

Spelling: Study words Lesson 15. Trial test tomorrow.

Reading/Social Studies: We read and discussed as a group "The Nation Grows" and "United States in Modern Times". We did worksheets over these lessons. We will have tests over this chapter Thursday and Friday.

No math today, we did our Menominee writing prompt about a turkey who needs some help.

We wrote letters to Santa Claus yesterday. Check out your child's letter. They are posted outside my room. If you don't come to school anytime soon, you could read them before our Christmas program Dec. 20. Santa was impressed with their letters!

Happy Monday!

Here's what we did today:

Spelling: Study words Lesson 15. Trial test will be Wednesday.

Reading/ Social Studies: We read and discussed about our New Nation and Building the Nation's Capital. We worked on some worksheets reinforcing the important points in these chapters.

We wrote letters to Santa Claus and made our Christmas lists. We hope Santa grants our wishes.

Here's what we did today:

Spelling: Final test over Lesson 14.

Reading/Social Studies: We read and discussed about Christopher Columbus and other early settlers. We wrote a story about these visitors to our country.

Math: We worked on finding half of a set of objects.

No homework!

Reading/Social Studies: We read about "America's Earliest Communities" and worked on a worksheet together about Native American Groups. We also worked on vocabulary.

Math: We had a lesson on counting quarters.

Homework: Study Spelling.

Happy Monday!

Here's what we did today:

Spelling: Big week in Spelling. We are doing one unit in THREE days! We will have a trial test tomorrow and final Spelling test on Wednesday.

Reading: For the next two weeks we will be doing a Social Studies unit during reading. We will be studying "Our Nation's History". We worked on vocabulary today.

Listen to the radio or tv if we have snow delays.

Happy Report Card Friday!

Here's what we did today:

Spelling: Final test over Lesson 13.

Reading: We discussed how the Pilgrims lived in our small group discussion. We took a test over "Across the Wide Dark Sea". We also drew a picture of the Mayflower II. We have some awesome artists!

We watched a video of The Mouse and the Motorcyle and compared it with the book.

No homework. Report cards were sent home.

Reading: We took a vocabulary test and read our creative writing stories about taking a voyage. We will have a test tomorrow over "Across the Wide Dark Sea".

No math today--we had DARE. Officer Owen is doing a great job in helping us to learn how to say no to drugs.

Spelling test tomorrow.

Report cards will be sent home tomorrow.

Reading: We were introduced to our new story "Across the Wide Dark Sea." We worked on vocabulary and partner reading. This is a great story to read before Thanksgiving.

Math: We learned how to use mental math to add 2 digits numbers. It is a cool trick!

Homework: Study Spelling and math 33B.

We had DARE today and learned more about how to say no to drugs!

Here's what we did today:

Spelling: We reviewed words in Lesson 12 and did workbook pages.

Reading: We read part of "Dancing Rainbows" in groups and learned about plural nouns. We worked on defining our vocabulary words.

Math: We worked on rounding off 2 digits numbers and then added them together to get a reasonable answer.

Keep reading for Book-its this month. You have to read four books on your reading level.

Homework: Study spelling for test tomorrow.
Math worksheet: 31B

Tomorrow is an early dismissal for in-service at 12:20 p.m. after lunch.

Here's what we did today.

Spelling: Study Lesson 12 review unit.

Reading: We were introduced to our new story "Dancing Rainbows", about an Indian boy. We talked about the new vocabulary and did partner reading.

Math: We had a test.

There are still four students who have not turned in their leaf collections.

The grading period ends this Friday.

Happy Friday!

Here's what we did today:

Spelling: We took our final test over Lesson 11.

Reading: We discussed the story "The Keeping Quilt". We also worked on SRA and vocabulary. We drew on the back of our vocabulary cards what the words meant. We had fun! There are quite of few artistic children in our class!

Math: We worked on reading thermometers to the nearest two degrees.

The leaf collections that were turned in were awesome! Great job third graders!

Happy Thursday!

Here's what we did today:

Reading: We wrote a creative story about what it would be like to be a leaf.
We had some VERY interesting stories. We also worked on SRA and at our literacy workstation we worked on word sounds.

We did not have math today. In place of math we had our first DARE class with Officer Mark Owen. This class teaches children how to say no to drugs. We will have 5 weeks of DARE. We will learn a lot and have fun!

The final spelling test for Lesson 11 is tomorrow. Don't forget to study your regular words or your challenge words.

Science: Your leaf collections are due tomorrow!

Welcome to Mrs. E's info.

We worked on vocabulary for "The Keeping Quilt" in reading today. We played the Concentration game. We learned about commom nouns. We practiced what we learned at our literary workstation.

Spelling test is tomorrow and Leaf Collections are due Friday.

We worked in math on writing amounts of money with dollar signs and decimal points.
